How do I care for my indoor Jasmine?

The Jasmine plant is an ideal plant for growing in a conservatory or indoors at a minimum temperature of 5°C (40°F). Ideally a constant temperature of 18°C (65°F) should be maintained. Choose a position in bright light away from radiators. Keep the compost moist at all times but take care not to over water. Mist the leaves regularly with tepid water but try to avoid the flowers. Yellowing of the foliage can be due to over watering or iron deficiency. Should this occur allow the compost to become almost dust dry before starting to water again. When in growth feed the plant monthly with a liquid flowering house plant fertilizer.

Once flowering is over cut back the plant quite hard to just above a leaf joint. To encourage flowering the following year the plant should spend the summer months outdoors in a sheltered position that gives protection from the hottest sun. When flower buds are visible in autumn bring the plant indoors before the first frosts. Repot as necessary in spring using a soil based potting compost.
