How do I care for my strawberry Tree?

This slow growing evergreen bushy tree will eventually reach a maximum height and spread of 8m (26ft) in 20 years or more. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from cold winds. Arbutus will grow in any moist, well drained soil. Young trees are more frost tender than mature plants and may need some frost protection in the early years.

The small white flowers are produced during September through to November and the fruit will ripen at the same time in the following year. The ripe fruit are best used for jams and liqueurs.

Pruning is not necessary other than cutting back weak, straggly growth in spring.
