How do you grow Strobilanthes Brunetthy?
Posted by Dobies Staff on 16 July 2014 10:43 am

The Strobilanthus Brunetthy is a stunning tender shrub with purple-brown leaves and pale lilac flowers which appear in May. This compact plant will reach a height of 1.5m (5ft) and is an ideal plant for containers in a sunny position on the patio. Keep the plants well watered and apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at three to four week intervals.

Very little pruning is required but if necessary any straggly shoots can be trimmed after flowering. The plants are not hardy and should be moved into a greenhouse or conservatory overwinter at a temperature of 12°C (54°F).
