A native of China this beautiful species produces an open, rounded deciduous shrub. The Edgeworthia Chrysantha is prized for its clove-scented yellow flowers which appear in dense clusters in late winter. A great plant for the winter garden, it rarely succumbs to pests and diseases but will require a sheltered spot. This shrub is hardy to -5C and in milder areas can be grown against a sheltered south or west facing wall. Grow in a well drained moisture retentive soil. In colder areas grow in containers and overwinter the plant in a greenhouse or conservatory. In containers use a John Innes no. 3 potting compost.
