The Cornus sanquinea 'Midwinter Fire' is a robust deciduous shrub which spreads by suckering and bears creamy white flowers in early summer. The green leaves turn yellow in autumn and fall to reveal dlame coloured stems which last through to spring.

To obtain the best winter colour plant in full sun and in a well drained soil. In March cut back all stems to 2-3 buds from the base of the plant.

Flowers May-June.
Height 1.5m (5ft) spread 0.8m (2.5ft)
